Recently acquired by Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art, and also in the collection of New York's MOMA, this 2001 MFA graduate from U.I.C., could be said to be on the fast track while at the same time not going too fast to lose his street credit; Paul has also had work in notable emerging artists galleries such as Lump, Bodybuilder and Sportsman, (Armory 2004) as well as Keith Talent in London. For those unfamiliar with his work, Paul has been termed the consumate artist of the disgusting but playful gross-out, more explicitly his drawings often depict hairy, accretioned, dripping, intestinal, corpuscle things that are so compelling yet repulsive they startle and disturb as we continue to stare, not quite able to turn away. While the show is G-rated, people with particular phobias would be encouraged to view from the front window.
